Some products include a California Proposition 65 Warning to comply with the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, also known as Proposition 65. This state law requires businesses to include a warning for products that contain trace amounts of heavy metals or other restricted chemicals, even those that are naturally occurring in the soil where produce is grown. California has the most stringent heavy metal testing guidelines in the world - resulting in state guidelines that are significantly below the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines.
The trace amount of lead in our “Performance Greens + Protein” product results from naturally occurring heavy metals in the soils where its ingredients are grown. We do not add lead to any of our products. Many agricultural products grown in soil contain naturally-occurring lead and other heavy metals.
